Best Places to Eat
Rentals, Attractions and Fun Things To Do Here

Whether it's breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or a late-night bite, Siesta Key, Sarasota, Lido and Longboat Key restaurants offer every kind of cuisine, including French, Amish, Italian, Japanese, Peruvian, Continental, Caribbean, Latin American, Mexican, Chinese, Irish and Indian dining.
Many restaurants specialize in fresh seafood from local waters, but you can also find burgers, fast food, good deli sandwiches, tapas, seafood, dim sum, sushi, soups, pizza, coffee and a delicious food kids menu. Go to a deli shop or steak house, or order takeout. There are plenty of pubs, as well as local grocery stores that sell beer, wine and liquor.
Dine out at area restaurants that have boat docks, and drop anchor at a mile marker while you eat. Many condos have boat docks available for renters, too. There are several chain restaurants, such as Olive Garden, Hooters, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Longhorn Steak House, Outback Steak House, Ruth's Chris Steak House and Red Lobster.
Menus include inexpensive, moderate and expensive price points. Many elegant restaurants appear on "best" food and wine lists, including Zagat's, Wine Spectator and Florida Trend. Several places offer homemade ice cream and yogurt, and handmade fudge and chocolates. The Columbia Restaurant on St. Armands Circle is a popular favorite.
Siesta Key Village, located near the north end of Siesta Key, is a community of shops and outdoor cafes with picnic tables and umbrellas. To the south, just off the Stickney Point Bridge, are more restaurants in the South Village. Continue further south on Siesta Key to find pub fare and waterfront dining, including an elegant Zagat-rated restaurant called Ophelia's on the Bay, often named the area's most romantic restaurant. Many proposals and engagement rings have been presented there.
Shop and dine out on St. Armands Circle, and enjoy outdoor seating to watch a parade or sunset. Downtown Sarasota is lined with eateries and bars, some with live music and dancing, especially on New Year's Eve during the famous pineapple drop.
Ask the locals to recommend their favorite restaurants. Don't be surprised if you run into a celebrity in the spring when the Sarasota Film Festival is downtown. Stars enjoy the gourmet food and tropical vibe as much as the locals do.
