Sarasota County Beaches and Parking
There are more than 150 local parks and recreational sites encompassing more than 4,000 acres, 35-miles of award winning beaches. Vacationing throughout Sarasota County Florida and the municipalties of Sarasota, including the Siesta Key #1 Rated Beach in the USA, Including Siesta Crescent, Turtle, Nokomis, Venice, Caspersen, Brochard, Beer Can Island, North Lido, South Lido, Lido Key, Longboat Key. All offer many choices for leisure activities.
Sarasota County Parks Recreation provides many beach parking locations thoughout our area FREE of charge. Listed below, please find information on the many different beach parking accesses for your safety and vehicle protection. Some locations offer limited spaces so we advise the early bird gets the worm. Only these locations are designated places to park. No vehicles allowed parked on side streets or private property. Please lock your vehicle at all times. Sarasota County is not responible for lost, stolen or damages. Be Safe n' Have Fun
Sarasota County Lifeguard duty hours:
Beach lifeguards will be on duty from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily on Sarasota County's public beaches, which are Lido Beach, Siesta Beach, Nokomis Beach, North Jetty Beach, Venice Beach and Manasota Beach.
Sarasota County Beach Parks, Lost and Found Items:
Lost items on the beach waiting to be claimed The method of tracking and, or holding lost items by Sarasota County is dependent on the particular beach lifeguard office.
On all beaches with the exception of Siesta Beach, when an item has been brought to a lifeguard stand on the beach it may stay in that lifeguard stand until the end of the day. The hope is that the owner of that watch, cell phone, or key will return asking for it.
If that does not happen, then the item will end up in the lifeguard office. There it stays waiting to be claimed. The process on Siesta Beach is different. Due to the number of patrons who visit the beach daily the lost items tend to be greater in number. Usually an item is turned over to a lifeguard at the lifeguard stand. If an item is not claimed by the end of the work day the lifeguards will bring the item to the Parks and Recreation Office at Siesta Beach. The Parks and Recreation staff will inventory the lost item and store it according to date. There it waits until claimed. | Siesta Key Public Beach is comprised of 100 acres. Open from 6:00 am - midnight. Siesta Key Public Beach hosts sandsculpturing events. It has two concession stands, large covered pavillion, rest rooms, beach umbrella rentals, outdoor showers, bike racks, Australian pines and shaded picnic areas with outdoor charcoal grills, children playground, beach volleyball courts, lighted tennis courts. Siesta drum circle held every Sunday night at sunset located at beachside of the Siesta pavillion. Beach rentals of wheel chairs and New floating handicap wheel chairs are also available at the pavillion. Approx 800 parking spaces, limited handicap spaces, 4 Lifeguard stations. |
