A Tribute to Charlie Valentine at the Siesta Key Village Gazebo

In the heart of Siesta Key Village Sarasota Florida sits a small gazebo that invites visitors to sit awhile. A small plaque notes that it’s dedicated to the memory of Charlie Valentine, whose love affair with Siesta Key began when she was a young woman.
At the time of her death, Charlie had been executive director of the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce. Her generosity and enthusiasm got people from all walks of life working together. They responded to her vivacity, good humor and love of community. Charlie believed, as Will Rogers once said, that strangers are friends you haven’t met yet. She made everyone her friend. If you have a moment, visit the Siesta Village gazebo to enjoy the vibe of this friendly Siesta beach town the way Charlie did. ![]() Comments:
