It is the anchor for one of the most beautiful beaches in the country, a shelter from the storm, and a place to grab a snack and go souvenir shopping. Designed by Tim Siebert from the famed Sarasota School of Architecture, the Siesta Key Beach Pavilion was dedicated in 1960 and has been a fixture for more than a half-century. Located along the powdery sands of Siesta Beach, where the drum circle is held every Sunday and visitors delight in the sunsets and water sports, the building was featured in the Architectural Record in August 1963. The building was renovated in the 1980s and currently offers two concession stands and free beach wheelchairs for guests with special needs. Stop by before a walk along the shore, a swim in the ocean or a sun-tanning session. The Pavilion is located at 948 Beach Road, Siesta Key, 941-861-5000.
